How far is it to the shops?

There are a number of shops around Kew Garden tube station including grocery shop, butchers, green grocers, hardware shop, chemist, florist. There are also a number of street cafe’s.

Where is the nearest supermarket?

There is a mini supermarket about 5 mins walk from the house. There is a Marks and Spencer about 10 mins walk. There is a large Sainsburys at the junction of the A316 and Sandicombe Road. This is probably about 20 mins walk or 5 mins by car.

There is a wonderful Chinese take away which is about 4 mins walk. It is at the junction of West Park Avenue and High Park Road.

Kew Gardens tube station is 4 mins walk. Details of the tube can be found on London Underground website.

There is a taxi rank outside Kew Gardens tube on North Road – about 4 mins wlak from the house.

There is a Doctor’s surgery in North Road. It is about 6 mins walk.

There is a Barclays Bank cashpoint in Kew Parade. It is about 5 mins walk.

There is a private Gym in Richmond by the Police Station. It is about 10 mins walk from Richmond Tube station.

Richmond Theatre is 5 mins walk from Richmond tube station and The Orange Tree Theatre is about 2 mins walk from Richmond station.

The Heathrow Hollywood Bowl is about 20 mins drive.

Richmond has got lots of Wine Bars – the hottest spot being All Bar One by Richmond Bridge. There two wines bar by Kew Bridge and of course there are a couple of restaurant win bars in Kew Village.

There is a recycling location 50m from the house. Papers and bottles can be sorted into the different coloured bins.

How far is it to the nearest motorway?

The M3 motorway is 8.5 miles. The RAC route planning (ww.rac.co.uk) estimates that this would take about 16 mins drive from the house. The M4 is about 6 mins drive.

Where is the nearest pub?

The nearest pub is at Kew Gardens station or at Kew Green.

A number of buses go from Kew Parade which is about 5 mins walk. Details of travel within the borough can be found on http://www.visitrichmond.co.uk/ (choose the Travel option) and Transport for London website.

Kew Gardens is also on the North London BR line. Richmond station is one stop on the tube.

Heathrow airport is about 20 mins drive or about 30 mins on the tube. To go by tube you would take the District line from Kew Gardens to Hammersmith. Change to the Piccadilly Line. The journey should take about 32 mins.

The nearest hospital is Roehampton General.

Kew library is opposite Kew Garden tube station – about 4 mins walk.

The Thames Towpath is about 5 mins gentle run from the house. There is an entrance to Richmond Park about 15 mins run from the house.

There is a 4 screen Odeon Cinema complex by Richmond bridge in the heart of Richmond. It is about 10 mins walk from Richmond station. There is a 10 screen complex at Feltham which is about 15 minutes drive.

The annual Oxford and Cambridge boat race finishes at Chiswick bridge about 7 mins walk from the house. There are lots of rowing clubs on the Thames nearby. Richmond Rugby Club is about 25 mins walk. Twickenham, the home of England Rugby is on the A316 at Twickenham. There are public tennis Courts by Kew Bridge – about 12 mins walk.

The neatest public swimming pool is Brentford Leisure Center which is about 15-20 mins walk and is just over Kew Bridge on Chiswick High Road.
